Out with the name “Pier Pressure”, in with Duet. We’ve paid for everything, purchased insurance, now arranging delivery to the boatyard in preparation for the stuff that needs to be fixed… Check out the new photo gallery and repairs & upgrades pages!

We’ve agreed to purchase “Pier Pressure” and plan to have her put “On the hard” at the Hinckley Marine yard in Stuart, FL. There we’ll have the bottom sanded, painted, the rudder bearings replaced and the standing rigging replaced. Maybe more, we’re still talking to the yard.

I’ve requested consideration for the “MAJOR” items that were found in the survey, requesting that the seller split the difference 50/50, and have revised the acceptance offer accordingly . Big step finally completed. Now we do the sea-trial, if it’s acceptable we’ll have it hauled for the survey.  If the survey is good, we’ll probably have it stored in “summer storage” in the yard where we’re having it pulled, then have any work done and re-float around the end of October.
