Everything finally came together to get the boat in the water on Wednesday. We were planning for a 7:30am launch, but the lift they would use had a bad cylinder and needed to be fixed prior to launch. Once that was done, we put it in the water. After checking things out a bit we went ahead and drove out to the ICW (Intracoastal waterway) and practiced some basic maneuvers to get familiar with the boat. We docked it and called the sail makers (Mack Sails) and let them know they could deliver the sails. Tested lots more systems, so far the windlass and the charging of the house batteries from the engine are the only two things that seem to be having issues, so I’ll be working on those problems as the top priority.
Here’s a picture of her on the lift, very exciting!
We did spent the night on the boat, which was, in a word, great.
